Y-Not Festival

Y-not Festival is a small intimate music festival which tries to steer away from the big corporate type of festival that many have become.
We believe that festivals should be about having a top weekend, somewhere in the countryside, seeing great live music, meeting bands, and sitting round either in the afternoon sun or a campfire at night and having a few drinks. This is what Y-Not is all about. Much of the intimate nature of Y-Not is down to the bands. Many of them camp with the festival goers and really get involved with the whole festival.
The amateur bands that play at Y-Not are there to have a good time as much as the festival goers and so the live performances they do, really are something special. Sometimes the bigger bands seem to be in it for the money, but this isn't the case at Y-Not.
YNF '06 was £20 for the weekend (3 days + 3nights camping) and £1 a drink. We've had to bump up the YNF '07 ticket price to £30 to pay for all the noise consultants and stuff which have had to be employed as part of the licence 
The bar and food will stay much the same though.
YNF '06 saw some really great bands play, and as you'll see from the Bands page, the line up for YNF '07 promises the same.
Y-Not Festival was founded in August 05, following the success of “The Big Gin Fest” which was a small music festival of about 3 bands.
Y-Not '06 (the first official Y-Not) was held in a quarry in deepest derbyshire. We've had to move sites though (unfortunately). This resulted from concerns about health and safety.
The new site has a completely different, yet still unique character.
So folks... the Y-Not objective is simple... Organise a brilliant music festival, and make sure every single person there has an absolutely ace weekend.
