Sziget Festival - Hungary

For a week each August, an island in the Danube at the north side of Budapest is converted into the biggest rock festival in Central Europe. Former shipyards at the southern end of Obudai Island are transformed with tents, stages, sound systems, campsites, showers and a travelling funfair into a festival paradise for students and backpackers of all ages. The festival attracts a young, hip crowd to the traffic-free island which each year welcomes 385,000 visitors. With hundreds events taking place at 30 different sites, tents and stages, festivalgoers are guaranteed a week to remember!
