Jam For Bread

JAM FOR BREAD is not about churning out the same old charity gig regulars. It is about being fresh, edgy and new, as you can see when you eye-up the line-up - Bonobo, Beardyman and Jamie Woon to name drop a few.
They’re coming together to jam to celebrate 60 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (if you’re not totally clued up on what that means, read on!).

The UDHR is not something that was cobbled together by politicians with time on their hands, but a groundbreaking leap into achieving a world where equality and justice reign supreme with creative contributors from all across the planet. So we are celebrating the UDHR in the spirit in which it was created – bringing creative people together with influences from around the world and pushing the boundaries.

The UDHR gave everyday people the tools to fight oppression, repression and to claim their rights. You know what though? We need it today more than ever before.
Where’s the ‘Bread’ going?

The money raised is going straight to the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture. As we said, the UDHR has helped to achieve a lot, but there’s still a long way to go as thousands of people are still being tortured across the world.

The Medical Foundation is a charity that can’t be ignored. It campaigns to end torture and organised violence, but until that goal is achieved it picks up where other human rights organisations leave off, by offering practical care and rehabilitation to survivors of torture.
It has helped tens of thousands of men, women and children rebuild their lives. They do this by providing care and rehabilitation in the form of different specialist therapies, including psychotherapy, music therapy and group therapy.
There are practical aspects too – the little things like giving them a hand with applications forms for uni, or giving them the money for a winter coat – little things that make a massive difference.
