Iceland Airwaves takes place the third weekend of October every year. Iceland Airwaves 2007 is scheduled from Wednesday, October 17th to Sunday, October 21st.
Airwaves is all about downtown Reykjavík. This is where most of the musicians live and breath so that is where the festival should take place. Maintaining the tradition of cutting-edge music, all night parties and general debauchery.
During the whole festival - from afternoon into the night - 
arties, instore shows, DJ & band gigs will be taking place in selected record shops, bars and galleries all over downtown Reykjavik. All is art of Iceland Airwaves 'off venue' program. Here you can catch some of the festival biggest acts, often laying surprise instore/bar gigs, and exciting local acts, who in some cases didn't make it do the official festival bill.
Some 170 bands, solo-artists and DJs will be performing at Iceland Airwaves 2007. Local talent usually make up approximately two thirds of the program. Among those who've performed at the festival through the years are Kaiser Chiefs (UK), The Rapture (US), TV on the Radio (US), Keane (UK), Brazilian Girls (US), We are Scientists (US), The Shins (US), Fatboy Slim (UK), Wolf Parade (CAN), Hot Chip (UK), The Bravery (US), Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (US), Suede (UK), Flaming Lips (US), Architecture in Helsinki (AUS), Ratatat (US), Sparta (US), Sigur Ros (ICE), Emiliana Torrini (ICE), GusGus (ICE) and hundreds more.
The Blue Lagoon party
There’s no better place in the world to recover from the hard work of Friday night than the annual Airwaves party in the Blue Lagoon. This year, as in other years, the hangover party will take place on Saturday, October 21st. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the lagoon while listening to a handpicked artists by Mr. Destiny himself.
